Pedesterian killed in Lee Co. crash

The Associated Press

PINE ISLAND, Fla. --

Investigators are trying to identify a pedestrian who died during a single-car collision in Lee County.

According to an FHP report, the man died Friday night, when he was struck by a pickup truck driven by Christopher M. Levy.

Levy, of Bokeelia, had glanced toward his passenger during a conversation and didn't have time to stop the vehicle when he looked back at the road and saw the pedestrian. The truck struck the pedestrian's back. Lee County EMS personnel that responded to the scene pronounced the man dead.

Neither Levy, his passenger nor a 10-month old baby that was also in the truck suffered injuries.
