Lauren Emily Epps and Matthew Alan Kaskowicz, both of Charlotte, were married Saturday, May 2, 2009, in The Citadel's Summerall Chapel in Charleston.
The Rev. Dr. Robert Daniel Holloway officiated at the 7 p.m. ceremony. A reception followed at Hibernian Society Hall, Charleston.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. James Neely Epps Jr. of Fort Mill. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. James Neely Epps Sr. of Fort Mill and the late Mr. Epps and Mr. and Mrs. Emory Jamieson Hollis of Clinton, formerly of Fort Mill. She graduated in 2007 from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science in graphic communications.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Alan Kaskowicz of Tega Cay. He is the grandson of Mrs. Richard Francis Cebulski of Fords, N.J., and the late Mr. Cebulski and the late Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Joseph Kaskowicz, formerly of Nutley, N.J. He graduated from The Citadel in 2004 with a degree in business administration. He is employed with Horizon Eye Care in Charlotte.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Maid of honor was the bride's sister, Ashley Hollis Epps, of Huntersville, N.C.
Bridesmaids were Sarah Helene Bernstein of St. Petersburg, Fla., Katie Lynn Hartley of Fort Mill, Julie Marie Howell of Charleston, Carrie Marie Johnson of Friendswood, Texas, Emily Carolyn Miner of St. Petersburg, Morgan Renee Rupert of Baltimore, Md., and Caitlyn DuBose Youngblood of Atlanta.
Flower girls were the bride's cousins, Victoria Neely Hume of Charlotte and Rylie Grace Thomas of Orlando.
Best man was the bridegroom's brother, Jason Richard Kaskowicz of Fort Mill.
Groomsmen were Shane Michael Cox of Fort Mill, Nathan Benjamin Everett of Charlotte, Ricardo Salva Cruz Flores Jr. of San Diego, Calif., Adam Hilton Miller of Tega Cay, Ryan Douglas Strait of Fort Mill and Jason David Zimmerman of Charlotte.
The bride wore an ivory Carolina Herrera gown made of the speciality fabric, fils coupe, with accents of ivory grosgrain ribbon, Spanish lace flowers in back and with a chapel-length train. She paired the dress with a chapel-length veil with a sheer ribbon edging designed by Cheryl King. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of white peonies, ranunculus, and sweet peas mixed with green cymbidium orchids. Colors of white, coral and navy were accented throughout the reception space.
Wedding music included selections played by Ruth Beard Boetsch and Nancy Clayton Lefter on the violin and organ. The coordination and event design were provided by Timeless Designs and photography was by Kate Thornton of Captured by Kate. A menu of Southern favorites was presented by Hamby's Catering while guests were entertained with music by Plane Jane.
The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the Kaskowicz family and held at the Altman Center overlooking the Citadel Football field. The bridesmaid's luncheon was held at 82 Queen.
The newlyweds honeymooned at Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and settled in Charlotte.
