Mr. and Mrs. John Wesley Fendley Jr. of Fort Mill announce the engagement of their daughter, Katherine Leigh Fendley, to William Douglas Starnes, son of Mr. and Mrs. William J. (Bill) Starnes of Salley.
The future bride is the granddaughter of the late Albert William Shanklin and the late Mrs. Berthene Hill Shanklin of Anderson .Her paternal grandparents were the late John Wesley Fendley Sr. and the late Mrs. Lorraine Yeargin Fendley of Anderson.
She is a 2000 graduate of Fort Mill High School and graduated Cum Laude from Clemson University with a Bachelors of Arts in psychology in 2005 and earned her Master's degree in Human Resources from Clemson in 2006. She is a licensed financial specialist with Wachovia Bank in Greenville.
The groom is the grandson of Lewis Delma Black and Annie Laura Black of Langley. His paternal grandparents were the late William Harold Starnes and the late Mrs. Juanita Cox Starnes of Salley. He is a 2000 graduate of Jefferson Davis Academy of Blackville. He graduated with Bachelors of Science in computer engineering in 2005 from Clemson University. He is a computer engineer with Advanced Automation in Greenville.
The wedding is scheduled for Oct. 10, 2009.
