Armed robbery
A Fort Mill Township business on Hwy. 21 was robbed at around 2:15 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, according to a York County Sheriff's Office report.
Fugitive faces drug charge
A Rock Hill man and two Fort Mill Township men were arrested for possession of cocaine in the Tega Cay Village Shopping Center Friday, Aug. 15, according to a sheriff's office report.
Scott Cooper, 25, of 216 South Downs Way, Brian Whittman, 24, of 493 Stonehenge Drive and Ryan Dearth, 23, of Cheval Drive were allegedly sitting in Cooper's car outside of a bar when a sergeant from the sheriff's office approached them. He asked what the suspects were doing and they said they did not like the music in the bar so they were listening to a CD in the car, according to the report. The sergeant asked for IDs and after a check,Cooper was listed as wanted in Texas on a larceny charge. After a search of the gray, 2005 Chevrolet Imapla, police allegedly found three grams of cocaine. All three suspects said they didn't know anything about the cocaine.
Home burglarized
A Fort Mill Township man's home was burglarized on Sophia Court Saturday, Aug. 16, according to a sheriff's office report. The burglar entered the victim's unlocked home through a rear door.
Teller spots counterfeit check
A Leland, N.C., man allegedly allegedly tried to pass a counterfeit check to a bank on Hwy. 160 West Thursday, Aug. 14, according to a Fort Mill Police Department report. The suspect was described as a 45-year-old white male, 6-feet, 3-inches tall with brown hair and blue eyes, according to his North Carolina ID card. The teller told police she could provide them with a photo.
