Car cleaner accused of theft

FORT MILL -- 

A Fort Mill man is in custody after he allegedly failed to return a car that he offered to clean for $50.

Authorities on Sunday charged James Greene III, 41, of Harris Road, with breach of trust (vehicle) in connection with the incident that happened last Friday, according to a Fort Mill police report. The 41-year-old victim told police that Greene, who had previously cleaned her car, said he would return the vehicle by 3 p.m. last Friday. The victim gave $40 and her car keys to Greene. However, the report notes, that Greene did not return the car the next day. Then on last Sunday, police arrested Greene at his home.
