FORT MILL --
Authorities today linked a Fort Mill burglary that occurred early Tuesday morning to another one that happened 20 minutes before in Rock Hill, police said.
No arrests have been made in the Fort Mill burglary that happened at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, at The New Peach Stand at 1325 Hwy. 160 West, Captain Bryan Zachary of the Fort Mill Police Department said.
Rock Hill Police Lt. Brad Redfearn said no arrests have been made in the Rock Hill burglary, which occurred at a store near York Technical College.
“We are working in conjunction with the fort Mill Police Department to see if the cases are related,” Redfearn said.
In the Rock Hill burglary, police discovered blood at the scene and a footprint on the store counter, Redfearn said.
According to police, a large rock was thrown threw the door at both stores that were burglarized Tuesday.
In Fort Mill, police also found blood at the scene.
“Rock Hill has had at least two burglaries where they (suspects) threw something through a door, went in and stole cigarettes,” Zachary said. “A similar Rock Hill crime occurred approximately 20 minutes before ours.”
In Fort Mill, police discovered a blood soaked paper towel and a paper bag marred with multiple blood stands at the scene. Taken was multiple cartons of cigarettes and 50 packs of cigarettes, a police report shows.
Police have video from a surveillance camera at The New Peach Stand that shows two males inside the store during the burglary. The video shows one of them stuffing cigarettes into a pillowcase.
