We need federal aid to survive
I hope residents appreciate Congressman John Spratt. His seniority, power and influence in Washington, D.C., brings jobs money and attention to our Fort Mill citizens.
With 12 percent unemployment in South Carolina, one out of 50 families having a member relying only on food stamps to survive and a state that is cash strapped, our citizens need to get all that Washington can give us.
We must remember that political ideology and partisan politics does not feed hungry families or give jobs to the unemployed; but, money and programs from the federal government do.
