FORT MILL --

Banners designed by students at Nation Ford High School and Springfield Middle School are being hung along Main Street today.

The 10 banners were created by students as part of a countywide project sponsored by the Arts Council of York County.

“We want to get some public art on the street and get students involved in the process of public art,” said Kristin Sessions, development coordinator for the Arts Council of York County.

“Most student artwork goes up on the parents’ refrigerator and never gets seen by anyone else. So this is just a way to get them some recognition.”
