The Gold Hill Middle School boys soccer team relied on defense in the second half to earn a 3-2 win over Fort Mill Middle Tuesday.
The win pushed the Bulldogs' record to 2-0.
Against Fort Mill, Gold Hill's first goal was scored by Calvin Chapman off an assist from Luca Botzenhardt four minutes in. The second came at 21 minutes in when Corbin Amaya scored. Botzenhardt had the assist. Botzenhardt, assisted by Trevor Pickitt, scored the final goal at the 28 minute mark.
Last week, Gold Hill won a 2-1 thriller over Oak Ridge Middle. The Bulldogs scored on a header by Mason Strohl in the 43rd minute to tie the match at 1-1. Mason's penalty kick was the winner for Gold Hill.
