Report: Woman chased, hit man with her purse

Two Fort Mill residents were arrested after an altercation at a corner store that included a woman allegedly chasing a man through the parking lot and hitting him with her purse, according to a Fort Mill Police report.

The incident happened Nov. 20 around 5:30 p.m. at John Boy’s Store at 140 Spratt St. Police arrived at the scene to find a man and woman arguing and cussing inside the store, causing a large disturbance, the report states.

The man told police the woman had chased him through the parking lot and hit him with her purse. Police were unable to calm either person. They arrested both people and charged them with disorderly conduct.

The suspects are identified as Timothy Dwayne Varnadore, 24, and Lindsey Whitman, 23, both of Fort Mill.
