A cashier at the Tega Cay Walmart has been accused of changing the prices of merchandise as part of a scheme to defraud the store, according to a Tega Cay Police report.
Police on Jan. 14 met with internal loss prevention officials at Walmart to discuss the case.
Store officials told police a 19-year-old male employee was believed to be lowering the prices of items in the store and then selling them at the lower price to his brother.
The report states the brother allegedly then attempted to return the items and receive a refund equal to the original price.
Wal-Mart turned over evidence to Tega Cay Police, who will seek a warrant, the report states. No arrests had been made at the time of the report.
Canoe stolen
from dock
A canoe stored next to a dock on Lake Wylie is believed to have been stolen, according to a Tega Cay Police report.
The canoes owner called police Jan. 21 around 4 p.m. to report the boat missing from his home off Coventry Circle in Tega Cay.
He told police he left the canoe next to his dock the day before. He described the boat as a black Prowler canoe with black kayak paddles.
Police were unable to locate the missing vessel.
