King, Wood marry

Kirby Leigh King of Tega Cay and Preston David Wood of Greer were married on May 20, 2012, at The Historic Rice Mill in Charleston.

Frances Thompson Owens, aunt of the bride, performed the ceremony.

The bride is a 2007 graduate of Fort Mill High School. In 2011 she graduated magna cum laude from USC Upstate with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology.

She was escorted by her father, and she is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kirby King of Tega Cay. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Douglas Eaddy of Hemingway and the late Mr. and Mrs. Buck Norwood King of Loris. She is the great-granddaughter of Nathalee Rogers and the late Willard Rogers and of the late Douglas Woodrow Eaddy and Elsie Eaddy Hill of Hemingway.

The groom is a 2001 graduate of Riverside High School and is employed by Travers Tool Company in Duncan. He is the son of Crissy Harley and the late David Preston Wood of Greer. He is the grandson of Joy Holland and the late John Holland and of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wood of Greer.

Maid of honor was Melanie Elizabeth Hafer of Florence, friend of the bride. Robert Ray Wood of Greer, uncle of the groom, served as best man.

Bridesmaids were Brittany Nicole Shook of Boiling Springs, Jennifer Brooke Maize of Boiling Springs and Kaitlin Ann Stoddard of Gray Court, all friends of the bride.

Groomsmen were Carson Douglas King of Tega Cay, brother of the bride, and Claude Evan McDowell III of Inman, friend of the groom. Ushers were Christopher Ross Ripple of Boiling Springs and Michael Glen Dowdy of Brunswick, Ga., friends of the bride and groom.

The wedding was directed by Frances Susanne Owens of Florence, cousin of the bride.

A reception followed at The Historic Rice Mill.

After a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple settled in Boiling Springs.
