Thieves strike Fort Mill garage
A Fort Mill man is missing golf clubs and flatware valued at more than $6,000, according to a Fort Mill Police report.
The 53-year-old man told police he believes someone stole the items from his garage between June 23 and 26. He lives at a home off Honeybee Trail.
Police responded and investigated, but there were no signs of forced entry. It’s believed the thieves entered through an open or unlocked garage door, the report states.
The missing golf clubs are Mizuno and Titleist brand clubs. The missing flatware is sterling silver. The combined value is estimated at $6,200.
Greenway building damaged
A storage building in the Anne Springs Close Greenway was damaged after thieves tried to break in, according to a Fort Mill Police report.
The report states the building’s rollup metal door was damaged in an attempted break-in sometime last week.
It doesn’t appear the thieves were able to enter the building. No items were missing. But it did cause more than $500 in damage, the report states. The building is located off a dirt road off Springfield Parkway, near an entrance to Nation Ford High School.
Tega Cay jet ski missing from dock
A Tega Cay man reported his jet ski stolen from his dock, but found it floating in the lake later that day, according to a Tega Cay Police report.
The man called police to report the crime when he noticed the watercraft missing the morning after he docked it outside his home off Beachwood Cove Drive.
Police began searching the lake for the vehicle and opened an investigation. But later that day the man found the jet ski floating in the lake. It is unclear whether it was stolen and abandoned or floated away from the dock. The jet ski, a 2008 Yamaha, was not damaged. It is valued at $7,000. The case has been closed.
