Hear about prophecies

CBS (Community Bible Study) invites all women to join them beginning Sept. 5 at River Hills Community Church in Lake Wylie to share the excitement found in the Books of Amos and Isaiah concerning prophecies of Jesus Christ.

CBS (community bible study) is an international bible study that is non- denominational and unaffiliated with any church, open to all women, of all faiths and all knowledge levels. CBS meets 9:15 to 11:15 a.m. at the River Hills Community Church on Hwy 49. Share in a morning devotional before small groups discuss home study questions and hold a large group review.

Nursery and preschool class are also available. Grades one to three will have there own core group and lecture studying Amos and Isaiah.

Enrollment begins for Higher Ground after school program

Higher Ground Church Child Development Center is now enrolling students for its 2012-2013 Christ-centered after school program.

All kindergarten students along with first through fifth-grade students are welcome. The program is a spiritual alternative to traditional childcare centers offering professional homework tutoring, daily chapel services and low student to teacher ratios in separated classrooms.

Students will be offered healthy snacks, structured group play times and spiritual lessons. the program also offers seasonal drama and music productions.

Flint Hill Baptist hosts One Harvest free food site

The One Harvest food ministry selected Flint Hill Baptist Church in Fort Mill as a host site.

The church and organization are committed to serving the community with top-quality food and help residents lower their monthly food bills.

The Community Café offers free weekly lunches at Lake Wylie Lutheran Church at the corner of Hwy. 160 West and Gold Hill Road in Fort Mill, near Tega Cay.

The Café serves free lunches every Friday from 11:30 a.m. until 2 pm. Donations are accepted.

The Clothes Closet Ministry of Sisk Memorial Baptist Church is open on the second and fourth Thursday and the third Saturday of each Month.

Clothing is available to all without cost.

This is the first Reform Jewish temple in York County. Services are scheduled for the second Friday of every month with a social activity every fourth Friday.

The United Churches of Fort Mill have organized “The Paradise Reading Center, Changing the lives of Families through Reading.”

The objective is to improve literacy in the Fort Mill community with hopes of improving school performance, as well as adult literacy.
