FORT MILL --
The Fort Mill High swim team opened the Region III swim season by beating both Northwestern and York in a three-way meet at the Rock Hill Aquatics Center.
The girls’ team won 137-33 over Northwestern and 148-21 over York to improve to 11-0 on the year and the boys’ team won 113-57 over the Trojans and 142-18 over York to improve to 13-0 on the year.
Fort Mill won five of the six relay events and won 12 of the 16 individual events. The Jackets were so dominant they had just over a handful of swimmers winning events, as five of the seven individual swimmers won two events each out of the 12 event wins.
Those Lady Jackets winning for Fort Mill included:
Tori Herron – girls’ 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle
Michelle Case – girls’ 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard butterfly
Madison Little – girls’ 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle
Lauren Wood – girls’ 100-yard backstroke
The boys winning for Fort Mill were:
Jacob Kohlhoff – boys’ 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke
Zach Piedt – boys’ 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle
Lucas Fairbanks – boys’ 500-yard freestyle
Fort Mill will head back to the Rock Hill Aquatics Center for another three-way meet this time against Rock Hill and York.
