Wood, Edwards marry in Fort Mill

Ashley Nicole Wood of Fort Mill and Andrew Adair Edwards of Clinton were married Aug. 4, 2012, at the Dairy Barn in Fort Mill.

The Rev. Kevin Cooley of the Philadelphia United Methodist Church officiated the 5 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Thomas and Linda Wood of Fort Mill. She graduated in 2009 from the University of South Carolina with her bachelor’s degree in English literature. She is a student at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in Pittsburgh, Pa. and will graduate in May, 2013.

The bridegroom is the son of Vernon and Melodie Edwards of Clinton. He graduated in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Clemson University. He graduated in 2011 from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh with a master’s degree in entertainment technology and is employed as a user interface designer at Sony Computer Entertainment in Santa Monica, Calif.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a gown of silk taffeta and carried a bouquet of ivory Gerber daisies, green hydrangeas, ivory garden roses, and greenery wrapped in ivory ribbon.

The man of honor was Christopher Wood, brother of the bride, of Fort Mill. The maid of honor was Caroline Niland, friend of the bride, of Aiken. The bridesmaids were Mairéad Flanagan, friend of the bride from Bridgewater, Mass., Jacquelyn Munroe, friend of the bride from Las Vegas, and Kate Rafey, friend of the bride, from Boston. The bridesmaids wore knee-length, silk taffeta dresses in eggplant with a ribbon belt with crystal detail.

The best man was Vernon Edwards, father of the groom of Clinton. The groomsmen included Matthew Edwards, brother of the groom, from Roanoke, Va.; Daniel Edwards, brother of the groom, of Charlotte; Joel Trantham, friend of the groom, of Charleston; and Andrew Korzik, friend of the groom from San Francisco.

A reception was held at the Dairy Barn following the ceremony. Guests enjoyed dinner and dancing, and the bride tossed her bouquet from the silo before the couple’s sendoff.

The newlyweds honeymooned in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
