Fort Mill Care Center needs your help

Care Center running out of food

Some of the shelves in the food pantry at the Fort Mill Care Center are empty and others will be soon.

As was stated in a recent article concerning a donation to the Fort Mill Care Center by Curves, we are very low on most foods that come packaged in boxes and bags. Specifically, we have not had cereal to offer our clients for several weeks. This week we will give out the last of our macaroni and cheese, rice and dried beans; we have no boxed dinners, no instant potatoes, no cake or muffin mixes, no coffee or tea.

This is traditionally the time of year that our food stores are at their lowest. The next major food drive is not expected until late October. Donations can be brought to the Fort Mill Care Center at 513 Banks St. during our operating hours of Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9 a.m.-noon. Our donation drop off is a garage door beside the large banner that says “Home of the Fort Mill Care Center.”

Thank you to all who contribute. The generosity of the people of Fort Mill has allowed us to provide food for needy people in our community since 1967.
