AARP drivers class can lower insurance costs
AARP Drivers Safety program will be offered for those age 50 years and older will be held 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 18t at Leroy Springs Recreation Complex, 971 Tom Hall St. Fort Mill.
Participants will receive a certificate which may reduce insurance rates on collision and liability. The cost is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non members. For more information, call Gene R. Esarove at 547-4553.

Lions club Candy Days coming soon
The Tega Cay Lions Club will hold its annual Candy Days donation drive along with the over 5,000 Lions Club members across South Carolina. The Tega Cay Lions will be giving away free candy mints in exchange for donations at the Walmart in Tega Cay and Harris Teeter in Fort Mill Oct. 26-27.
The services that Lions Club offers are funded by donations received from the general public during Candy Days. Local merchants and others who may be interested in supporting this Tega Cay Lions Club fund raising effort are encouraged to purchase a case (240 rolls) of candy mints from a Lions Club member for $85. Fort Mill Lions Club invites new members
The Fort Mill Lions Club meets the first and third Tuesday of the month at Unity Hall in Unity Presbyterian Church with dinner served at 7 p.m. The meetings begin at 7:30 p.m., ending around 8:15 p.m.

Drawing workshop offered
The Catawba River Art Guild is holding a drawing workshop for beginners through Intermediates. What will be covered is contour and perspective drawing, design dynamics for painting or sketching, color basics and understanding Value. The instructor is Herb Dumaresq.

Waxhaw Womans Club plans homes tour
The Waxhaw Womans Club has scheduled its biennial Holiday Tour of Homes for Friday, Dec. 7, and Saturday, Dec. 8, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The homes featured in this tour are some of the most beautiful, as well as historical, in all of Waxhaw, N.C. This tour will emphasize Waxhaws architectural diversity. Homeowners can still sign up to be part of the tour.

Tega Cay Lions
Tega Cay Lions Club meets the second and fourth Saturday of the month. The meetings are held at the golf club on Molokai Drive with breakfast served at 8:15 a.m. The meeting begins at 8:30 and ends around 9:30 a.m.

Vintage Club lowers minimum age
The Tega Cay Vintage Club made a significant change to its by-laws at its July meeting: Now, any resident of Tega Cay who is at least 50 years old may join the Vintage Club. This includes a couple even if only one of them is 50 or older.
Previously, the minimum age was 55 because the meeting facility did not have enough seating capacity to accommodate all who wanted to belong to Vintage Club. Monthly meetings are now held at the Glennon Center in Tega Cay, providing more room for diners and additional members.
The club meets on the last Wednesday of each month at 6:15 p.m. at the Glennon Center and holds a variety of outings and activities. Dues are $15 per person a year and the dinners each month are $21 per person, including tax and gratuity.

The Catawba River Art Guild meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m. at the Arts Council of York County, 121 E. Main St., Rock Hill. Guests are welcome at the meetings.
The Catawba River Art Guild was created to support, encourage and inspire the interest of art and artists in the community. Dues are $5 per year.
