For the second straight week, the Fort Mill High swim team almost pulled off a perfect meet by nearly sweeping rivals Nation Ford.
The boys team won 118-52 and the girls team won 129-40, but even more impressive was the fact that Fort Mill won 20 of the 22 events, including all six relays.
Earlier in the season, Fort Mill beat Rock Hill and York in a three-way meet winning all 22 events.
The one person that spoiled with clean sweep for Fort Mill was Nation Ford swimmer Brandon Sweezer, who won both the boys 100-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke.
Fort Mill had four multiple winners and 10 different winners of the 16 individual events.
Individual winners for Fort Mill were:
Madison Coughlen – girls 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke
Jacob Kohlhoff – boys 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle
Zach Piedt – boys 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard butterfly
Michelle Case – girls 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle
Tori Herron – girls 200-yard individual medley
Franklin Westerkamp – boys 50-yard freestyle
Kelsey Holloway – girls 100-yard butterfly
Julia Herron – girls 500-yard freestyle
Madison Little – girls 100-yard breaststroke
Walker Koontz – boys 100-yard breaststroke
Later in the week, Nation Ford split a meet with South Pointe and Lancaster at the Rock Hill Aquatics Center.
Nation Ford won one of the six relays and had several individual winners.
Winning events for the Falcons were:
Brandon Sweezer – boys 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle
David Sweezer – boys 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard backstroke
Sabrina Riehl – girls 500-yard freestyle
Fort Mill heads to the Rock Hill Aquatics Center this week for a three-way meet with Northwestern and South Pointe, while Nation Ford host a home meet against York at the Anne Springs Close Greenway Recreational Complex.
