Learn your
rights during Constitution Week
Today is the 225th anniversary of the Constitution of the United States, and it is currently known as Constitution and Citizenship Day. The week of Sept. 17-23 each year is mandated by public law to be proclaimed Constitution Week.
The mayors and governing councils of the town of Fort Mill, the city of Tega Cay, along with South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and President Barack Obama have issued proclamations to encourage everyone to read and know the Constitution in order to be well informed of the rights, privileges and freedoms guaranteed to all U.S. citizens under it.
As individuals, the members of the Fort Mill Society of the Children of the American Revolution and the members of their sponsor, Nation Ford Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, wish all to fulfill this duty and obligation as American citizens to learn of our rights, to read, study and celebrate the Constitution of the United States. Let us each fly our American flags as a show of support and commitment to this living document.
Friends, families and neighbors of all ages are urged to join us and do the same, especially during the coming week in this the 237th year of independence.
