The Fort Mill High Lady Jackets tennis team has rallied to pull close to .500 on the season after taking two of its last three matches.
Fort Mill beat South Pointe twice recently with one of those wins a continuation of the season opening match against the Stallions that was put on hold because of rain.
Completion of the rain delayed match meant a 5-1 win for the Lady Jackets. No 1 singles player Reagan Paff won in default and No. 3 singles player Ellie Prain, battling mono, lost in default.
No. 2 singles player Rachel Brooks won in straight sets 6-0, 6-0, as did No. 4 singles player Preya Desai and No. 5 singles player Jessica Zahn.
In the doubles match, Fort Mill had a tough time after allowing South Pointe to wins some games. However in the end, Lady Jackets tandem Caroline Bitter and Emily Denmeade won 7-5, 6-3.
In the second match between the two squads, Fort Mill won 5-0. Paff and Brooks each dropped a game, but still came away in straight sets winning 6-1, 6-0.
Zahn won her match without dropping a game, winning 6-0, 6-0 and Desai won in a hard fought battle 6-4, 6-4.
In doubles, Bitter and Jamie Davis won in straight sets 6-0, 6-0.
Fort Mill also played Northwestern earlier in the week, but fell 5-1. The Jackets now sit at 4-5 on the season and play at home against Clover and Nation Ford this week in two key Region III-AAAA matches.
