Another new shop opens in Indian Land

INDIAN LAND --

Special to the Fort Mill Times

With the opening of TCBY, Indian Land has a new, tasty treat for all ages.

The self-serve frozen yogurt shop held its grand opening Sept. 29 in its spot next door to Jersey Mike’s in The Commons at Doby Bridge.

The location at 8433 Charlotte Hwy. in Indian Land may benefit from the opening of a Publix supermarket across the road, the shop’s owner said.

“The opening is going to bring a traffic pattern here that we are unfamiliar with. So, we are bracing ourself for it to see if it will increase our customer count because of the proximity,” said Bill Ross, who owns the TCBY along with his wife, Nicole.

Along with the new Publix, the proximity to three schools could mean more families coming into the store.

“We hope people just put this [TCBY] into their routine. When they know they are coming down this way, they will just work us in. We like to know that we are part of families’ routines and a destination,” Nicole Ross said.

The store offers a variety of healthy soft-serve frozen yogurts with multiple topping choices to choose from.

“It is a very casual atmosphere, and Indian Land is yearning for services. People do not think of Indian Land as a destination, but as a businessperson I want to keep it local,” Bill Ross said.

“It is a fun destination for all ages and we have free Wi-Fi,” Nicole Ross said.

Customers Matt Sedore, Ashley Litsey and Emily Echols stopped in to grab some of the tasty yogurt after a long day at work last week.

“What is better than frozen yogurt after a long day at work?” Litsey said.

Natives of Madison, Wis., Sedore, Litsey and Echols were pleasantly surprised when they stopped in.

“The one in Madison is set up very differently. Here, you can serve yourself and the colorful toppings. This one is just more fun,” said Echols.

“Ultimately, TCBY is the best frozen yogurt concept on the market. When eating it, you do not realize it is yogurt. You think it is ice cream,” Bill Ross said.

TCBY’s hours are Monday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
