The Fort Mill Lady Jackets golf team won two of four matches this past week to stay above .500 for the season.
Fort Mill beat Rock Hill in a dual match before defeating Nation Ford and losing to Clover in a three-way match. The Lady Jackets also lost to the Lady Blue Eagles in a dual match by just a single stroke.
Fort Mill is now 5-4 on the season.
Against Rock Hill, Fort Mill was led by Sam Hammerle and Alex O’Neill, who both shot a 48 at Fort Mill Golf Club in the 199-223 win.
Olivia Koontz followed them with a 51 and both Randi Smith and Devin Sallenger shot a 52 to round out the scoring for the Lady Jackets.
Head coach Steve Gribble said his team is right on course in preparing for the Region III-AAAA tournament in a couple of weeks.
“We are about where I would expect us to play now,” he said. “We are getting better each week.”
In their dual match with Clover, the Lady Jackets fell 189-190. Clover’s Addison Sanford led the Lady Blue Eagles and the rest of the field by shooting a 41.
Fort Mill was led by Koontz, who shot 45 on the road at River Hills Country Club. Hammerle was just a stroke back shooting a 46. O’Neill finished with a 48 and Smith finished with a 51 at the par 36 course.
In the three-way match, Clover was a little more dominant, shooting a 187, while Fort Mill shot a 195 and Nation Ford shot a 235.
Samford again led all players, again with a 41, while Koontz again led Fort Mill, this time with a round of 47. O’Neill and Catherin Blum shot a 48 and Hammerle finished the scoring for the Lady Jackets with a 52.
Nation Ford was led by Nancy Holland’s 51. Erin Mathis shot a 60 and Jordyn Zaino shot a 61 for the Lady Falcons.
Shannon Maguire finished the scoring for Nation Ford with a 63.
