The Humane Society of York County will be hosting several fundraising events for people and pets alike throughout the month of October.
On Saturday, the society will be hosting wiener dog races at the Old Town Rock Hill Oktoberfest. The races will take place from 5 p.m. -10 p.m. on East Main Street in Rock Hill. Participants may register online at humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org.
HSYC will also be holding its third annual Dog Howl’oween Celebration and Costume Contest. On Sunday, Oct. 28, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Humane Society location in Regent Park. There will be a parade, photos, 50/50 raffle, costume contest with prizes, and tricks and treats for all in attendance. The society respectfully requests that only well behaved, up-to-date on shots, leashed canine friends attend the event.
To close out the month, HSYC and Daimler Trucks are collaborating to host its third annual Charity and Adoption Event from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31. The occasion will also be the last day to take advantage of $70 cat and kitten adoption fees, available only in October.
The Humane Society of York County is inviting all local pet lovers to attend these events during the month of October, and all proceeds will benefit the society.
