With a fourth place finish by some 27 strokes over Northwestern, the Fort Mill Lady Jackets qualified for the Upper State tournament this week in Easley.
Fort Mill shot a 409 as a team to finish fourth in the Region III-AAAA tournament last week at the Lancaster Golf Club.
The Lady Jackets were led by Samantha Hammerle, who shot a 95 on the 18-hole par 72 course.
Her score was followed by a 104 from Olivia Koontz and two 105s from Alex ONeil and Catherine Blum.
South Pointe won the event shooting a 327, followed by Clovers 361 and Lancasters 373.
Nation Ford finished sixth in the one-day tournament shooting a 440. The Lady Falcons were led by Nancy Holland, who shot a 93. Her scores were followed by a 113 from Erin Mathis, a 114 from Jasmine Saab and a 120 from Shannon Maguire.
Fort Mill will now play Easleys Smithfield Country Club this week to try and qualify for the State Championship tournament held Oct. 29-30 at the Lexington Country Club. Teams have to finish in the top eight to move onto the State Championship.
