There’s no doubt we’re in trouble

There’s no doubt our country is

in trouble

As I was mowing and contemplating the world situation recently, I had a vision, and now believe I see and understand our president as never before.

I think there is an internal conflict between his black and white heritages. His black half is considered to be brilliant by all those who elected him. This brilliant side is apparent when we consider how he showed up at Occidental College as a young Muslim student from Indonesia, and reportedly qualified for financial aid as a foreign student under the name of Barry Soetoro, the last name of his stepfather. His brilliance continued to manifest itself as he transferred to Columbia University, and later made his way to Harvard Law School.

There has been little disclosure of his scholastic records, but his mentors along the way have been well documented and include Frank Marshall Davis, a known communist in Hawaii; Bill Ayers, a known terrorist with the Weathermen group in Chicago, who still says he did not do enough damage; and Tony Rezko, a shady Chicago businessman, who was sentenced to 10 1/2 years in 2011 for corruption and fraud.

Most recently, a chief adviser, Valerie Jarret,t has some mysterious influence over him that has made her one of the most powerful people in the government. She has no elected capacity, but has been assigned a full security detail, an unprecedented use of the Special Service. She enjoys a close personal relationship with both the president and his wife, and has been instrumental in both of their careers as they have come to this place in history.

In contrast with his brilliant side, the other side has influenced some of the most controversial actions on several fronts to ever come out of the Oval Office. Though he now professes to be a Christian, his Muslim background may be easing the way for the Judeo-Christian foundation of our country to be diluted by anti-Christian factions.

His seeming lack of interest may be due to the fact that he did not grow up here, but in Muslim surroundings, in Muslim schools, and with a Muslim father and stepfather, not to mention grandparents, alleged by some to be communists.

He has never accepted that our nation is exceptional, and seems determined for us to be more like other nations of the world. He has tried to push us into undeveloped and untested energy alternatives, and has poured billions into one after another failed companies.

At the same time, his administration has put one after another obstacle in front of developed technologies that could utilize domestic energy sources (oil, natural gas and coal) from some of the largest reserves in the world.

He has encouraged and provided financial aid to other nations, some not even friendly, to develop their resources, and he has sought trade agreements with them, to bring to us what we should be producing for ourselves.

The bailout of General Motors is coming to be recognized as a gift and payback to powerful automotive unions who have fallen on bad times.

As a result, they have come away with a significant ownership share of the corporation. The loan has left the government (us) with shares worth billions less than present value.

As suggested by many, a controlled bankruptcy could have given GM protection while they downsized, reorganized and continued operations…all without the massive input of our federal dollars. And, there were other unnecessary bailouts.

The economy is still in the toilet, and employment numbers are still unacceptably high.

I could have misunderstood some of this vision…may even have switched his two sides.

But there can be no doubt that our country is in trouble, and we have come to this point on the watch of this president, not the last one.
