Nation Ford out of tennis playoffs after first round

FORT MILL -- 

The Nation Ford Lady Falcons tennis team fell in the first round of the 4A playoffs losing 4-2 to Riverside.

Coming into the playoffs, Nation Ford was a number two seed after finishing second in Region III-AAAA and had to take on the third seed in Riverside.

No. 1 singles player Ashley Trull lost in three sets 6-3, 4-6, and 10-7. Also losing in straight sets for Nation Ford were No. 4 singles player Tanashia Thomas, 6-0, 6-3 and No. 5 singles player Darby Trull 6-2, 6-3.

In doubles action, Jordan Sawyer and Susie Clark lost 7-5, 6-1.

Only the No. 2 and No. 3 singles players, Suzanna Goss and Casey Strickland, got wins for the Lady Falcons.

Goss won 6-1, 6-3 and Strickland won 6-2, 6-4.

Nation Ford’s Trull sisters, Ashley and Darby, along with Goss and Strickland all made the All-Region tennis team.

The Lady Falcons finished the season with a 14-5 record.
