Election 2012: Incumbent, 2 newcomers appear to have won Fort Mill School Board seats

FORT MILL TOWNSHIP -- 

It appears that Fort Mill School Board incumbent Scott Patterson has retained his seat and challengers Pam Martin and Tom Audette won the other two at-large seats on the ballot, according to unofficial results.

Incumbent Chantay Bouler appears to have lost her seat, coming in sixth place out of the seven-candidate race with 4,507 votes.

Here are the results with all precincts reporting:

Tom Audette: 6,253

Brian Boyd: 4,100

Michele Branning: 5,915

Chantay F. Bouler: 4,507

Jennifer Greene: 4, 776

Pam Martin: 6,441

Scott Patterson: 7,960

In another race, Republican Wes Hayes was re-elected Tuesday in S.C. Senate District 15, surviving political attacks from a “shadow group” and competition from tea party activist Joe Thompson.

District 15 includes Tega Cay, Lake Wylie, southern Rock Hill and Fort Mill.

Hayes, a Rock Hill lawyer, has served in the Legislature for 27 years. Thompson’s effort to unseat the long-time Senator was the first opposition Hayes has faced since 1992.

In the U.S. House Dist. 5 race, incumbent Mick Mulvaney (R-Indian Land) appeared easily re-elected, capturing the vote 2-1 over Democratic challenger Joyce Knott of Rock Hill.

The race for the new S.C. House Dist. 26 seat went to Raye Felder, a Fort Mill Republican running as a petition candidate, who defeated Libertarian Jeremy Walters of Fort Mill 5,097 to 4,576 with all 16 precincts reporting.
