Kudos to drug taskforce

Kudos to drug taskforce

I strongly believe that it is time for the Lakeridge Homeowners Association currently represented by the Braesael Management Group in Matthews, N.C., and the City of Tega Cay City Manager and city representatives to step up, to the extent that they can, and take legal action to protect the law-abiding residents of the Lakeridge Community.

I commend the YCMJDEU for their efforts and the City of Tega Cay Police Department and Code Enforcement for taking action regarding the SRO violations.

I have witnessed the decline and destruction of many neighborhoods that failed to take action to prevent drug dealers from gaining a foothold. What you can expect if not treated is a neighborhood exposed to drug dealers and drug users driving into areas populated by children playing in the streets. The dealers and users will usually have some form of protection, gun or knife and in most cases will be under the influence of alcohol or narcotics. The activity continues through the day and into the night with cars driving up to the home getting their drug of choice and leaving minutes later.

If you think that either the dealer or users are concerned with neighborhood plight or the safety of the residents and their children, I am here to tell you, they are not! These Tega Cay families deserve better than this and all avenues should be explored to ensure that they get it.

I believe the best way to get started would be to sit down together, city management, Braesael Management Company and Lakeridge Residents to discuss the issues and any possible solutions.
