•  Retro Vertigo, 9 p.m. Friday at Casual Water at Tega Cay Golf Club. It’s the best of the 1980s featuring live music and prizes for best 80s attire. Get your groove on. Free.

THIS WEEK

•  Miss Indian Land High Pageant, 7 p.m. Thursday in the ILHS gymnasium. Admission is $5. Proceeds go to a scholarship for the winner and to help fund the prom in April.

•  Low Country shrimp boil, 7 p.m. Friday at the Fort Mill Moose Lodge. Peel and eat shrimp, Polish sausage, corn on the cob and potatoes. $10 a plate. All welcome.

•  Charity Bootcamp, Saturday at Faith Fitness Studio, Fort Mill. All welcome. Just bring at least five canned good or other donation items for the Fort Mill Care Center and Fishes and Loaves and workout free. Call 389-7600.

•  Catawba Indian Craft Fair, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at Catawba Cultural Center in Rock Hill. Drumming, dancing, and a variety of Catawba-made crafts.

•  Open Horse Show, fundraiser to benefit Dream Equine Therapy Center 10 a.m. Saturday at Gaston Farm Road Equestrian Center, 2717 Gaston Farm Road, Chester. There will be 38 classes, vendors, live music, face painting, concession, arts and crafts and more. Admission is $7 per class or $50 for all day. All donations are tax deductible. •  Ride for Patriotism Poker Run and Fundraiser, 1 p.m. Saturday at the Fort Mill Moose Lodge. Proceeds will benefit Sew Much Comfort and Carolina Canines for Veterans.

•  Cat crazy, The Animal Adoption League ( www.mynextpet.com) will hold a special series of cat adoption events in the Tega Cay area 2-5 p.m. Saturday. These events will be held at their temporary “cat house” in the Crossroads Shopping Center at the intersection of Hwy. 160 and Gold Hill Road, behind Bojangles’. Look for the little white and blue building with the AAL van parked in front.

COMING SOON

•  Youth Night, 6:30 pm. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at The NarroWay Theatre. There will be a live DJ with fun games and music prior to the approximately one hour show. Teen tickets are $10 and include free popcorn and soft drink. One youth leader will be admitted free with a group of 15 or more.

•  The Fort Mill Christmas Parade, is Saturday, Dec. 1, in downtown Fort Mill starting at 11 a.m. Anyone interested in placing a entry in the parade needs to download an application which can be found at www.fortmillsc.gov. EVERY WEEK

•  The Fort Mill VFW is serving breakfast, 8-11 a.m. the second Sunday of each month. Breakfast costs $6 and includes pancakes, bacon, sausage and coffee and is open to the public. The VFW is located at 1442 Harris Road, Fort Mill. For information, call 803-547-5480 or go to www.vfw9138.org.

•  Rent a kayak, at the Anne Springs Close Greenway to take out on 28-acre Lake Haigler. $7 for a one-person kayak, $10 for a tandem kayak for 30 minutes. To reserve, call 803-548-7252.

•  A Kids Book Club, for ages 7-12 and includes puppet shows, library games and activities at the Lancaster Public Library, 5-5:45 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays. For details, call 803-285-1502.

•  Preschool Story Time and activities, for 3- to 5-year-olds and their caregivers will be held on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. or Wednesdays at 10 and 11 a.m. No registration is required.

•  Book Clubs for Adults, at the Fort Mill Library. Join other book lovers for a monthly discussion of some great books. Choose the group that best meets your schedule and interests. Call 803-547-4114 to register.
