Fort Mill salutes its veterans

FORT MILL -- 

Several events were held Friday through Sunday around Fort Mill to honor veterans.

At Fort Mill and Indian Land schools, students invited family members and family friends who served in the U.S. Armed Forces to participate in special programs honoring veterans. In downtown Fort Mill, a ceremony was held in Veterans Park, where pavers bear the names of those who have served.

During the program, Phyllis Helms presented the the Fort Mill Veterans Memorial a check for $2,550.
