Scouts help here at home

Scouts help where it’s needed

This is in response to the person (Jay Evan) who wanted all of us to leave the bags empty for our Boy Scouts. I believe we are all concerned for the people affected by Sandy and many of us make contributions to the Red Cross and other nonprofits to help people in that situation.

This is a choice and everyone follows their own heart.

I do not believe that the children who live in our area should go hungry because there was a hurricane up North (I am a Yankee, by the way). I also believe that the Boy Scouts are teaching our young people to care and give. I personally filled that bag even higher because of Mr. Evan’s comments, and it makes me happy to know that a child will eat today because other people feel the same.

Thank you, Boy Scouts, for doing what you do.
