Bus headed to Sugar Creek involved in wreck; No serious injuries reported

November 15, 2012

— A school bus carrying three special needs students headed to Sugar Creek Elementary School collided with a car this morning, Fort Mill school officials said.

No students were injured, but the driver of the car that collided with the bus was treated at the scene, according to school district spokesperson Kelly McKinney.

The driver of the car declined to go to the hospital.

The bus driver was not at fault, according to McKinney, who said the car pulled out in front of the bus.

The accident happened this morning around 7 a.m. at the corner of Audrey and Harris streets and caused minor traffic delays. Principal Annette Chinchilla of nearby Riverview elementary School came out to the scene to assist the students as they transferred to another bus and counseled them after the accident.
