Club soccer tryouts in Lake Wylie Nov. 26

Discoveries Soccer Club, a nonprofit, will hold free tryouts for ages 6 to 14 for the spring season 6-8 p.m. Nov. 26 at Oakridge Middle School, 5650 S.C. 557. Check in at 5:30 p.m.

Teams will be based locally, so no traveling to Rock Hill for weekly practices. The club serves the Lake Wylie, Clover, York and Tega Cay communities.

Youth wrestling underway

The Fort Mill Wrestling Club is under way Tuesdays and Thursdays through December, and Mondays and Wednesdays in January.

Buy a Christmas tree from the Yellow Jackets

The Fort Mill High baseball team is holding its annual “fresh cut” Christmas tree sale. The trees are Frasier firs from Avery, N.C. They were cut Nov. 15 and the teams will start selling at 9 a.m. Friday.

They are set up in the empty lot near downtown Fort Mill, between Founders and the Veterans Memorial on Hwy 160. They are open seven days a week 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Indian Land boosters looking for support

The Indian Land High School Athletic Booster Club is selling program ads, corporate signs, memberships and season passes. All forms can be downloaded from the ILHS website at http://ilhs.lancasterscschools.org.

Jets fans gather

at Skyline Grill

Jets fans who want to watch the game with other local fans can stop in at the Skyline Grill at Regent Park Golf Club in Fort Mill. Fans can keep track of all of the games aired on the NFL Package and enjoy $1.50 domestic beers on game day.

Calling all Giants fans

If you’re a fan of the New York Giants and want to get together with other local fans for games this season, a special room is reserved for game day at Madison’s on The Corner at the corner of Hwy. 160 West and Gold Hill Road in Fort Mill.

Fans can watch the game on a huge projection screen and on several flat screens set up. Enjoy a hot buffet for less than $10, or order from an extensive menu. The group typically doesn’t meet for games shown in prime time.

Fitness 101 at the Fort Mill YMCA is a course designed for anyone serious about getting leaner, stronger and in shape once and for all. Get the information you need to meet your fitness goals, addressing such issues as proper breathing, range of motion and exercise selection.

The course meets at 9 a.m. the third Saturday of each month and the cost is $5.
