Tega Cay All-Stars advance in football tournament
The 9- to 10-year-old Tega Cay All-Star team has advanced to the Central District Championship after two rounds of victories in the SCAP Football All-Star Tournament.
On Nov. 17, the team faced off against the Fairfield All-Star team at Sullivan Middle School in Rock Hill and claimed a 8-6 victory. The Tega Cay All-Stars then traveled to Lewisville High School in Richburg on Nov. 19 to defeat the Chester All-Star team 10-6 in the second round of the tournament. Now the Tega Cay All-Star team will travel to Lancaster on Tuesday, Nov. 27, to compete for the Central District Championship against the Lancaster All-Star team at Lancaster Memorial Stadium at 6:30 p.m.
Leading the team is head coach Evan Helms and assistant coaches Matt Holbert and Lonnie Ratliff.
