Don’t dump puppies like they are trash

Don’t treat unwanted puppies like trash

This is on behalf of these puppies we found in Fort Mill:

To the person who abandoned us in a field off of Pleasant Road,

We are sure that you are surprised to hear from us and relieved to know that we are alive and safe. We just wanted to let you know what has transpired since we last saw you. It was a hot summer day in late July or early August when you dumped the three of us out along with other trash. Well, we had a pretty rough time of it for awhile with all of the 100-degree days, no shelter, food or water.

We don’t remember exactly how long we were there before a wonderful family discovered us nearly starved and afraid of all human contact. They captured us and took us to their home and provided all of the essentials necessary to sustain life. They provided a loving, caring environment so that we could understand that all people were not mean and cruel to others that share our world. This family along with the Humane Society of York County shelter provided proper health care along with immunizations to protect us.

After about four weeks we regained our strength and health and learned to return the love and affection we had been taught. We have all been adopted by caring loving people and are now with our forever families that are grateful to have us.

The next time that you have unwanted puppies, please take them directly to the shelter rather than abandoning them in some deserted field taking a chance that they may starve to death or find some other horrible fate. It’s just down the road from where you dumped us. While you’re there, I’m sure that you will want to donate some money or some of your time to help support other unfortunate animals. The same goes for the other trash that you left in the field. Just a few more miles down the road is the York County Collection Center; they will take your trash at no cost to you.

Again, thank you for being a responsible citizen and we are hoping that the kindness that you have extended to others in your life will be returned to you.

Respectfully,

Huey, Louie and Dewey
