These are Fort Mill’s Finest

In small towns, police officers not only know each other, but they know most of the residents as well.

In a small town, you have time to help find solutions to problems and have more of an opportunity to help the community.

The Fort Mill Police Department works in a true partnership with the fellow citizens of Fort Mill to enhance the quality of life in this town. Talking to Capt. Bryan Zachary, I am in awe of the Fort Mill Police Department and its philosophy of professionalism and their relationship with the community.

I can readily understand why the crime stats are down in Fort Mill. There are 35 top-notch officers, Chief Helms and his chain of command so you can easily see why Zachary, who serves as the department’s public information officer, talked about the Chief’s pride in his officers for their fairness and pride in the community and for always going that extra mile.

Police Officers Rob Giglio, who was named “Officer of the Year” by his peers, and his partner, Cpl. Sam Blankenship, are only two examples of outstanding officers. I know them personally and know how hard they work to resolve situations.

Plato wrote, “Good actions give strength to ourselves and inspire good action in others.”

Fort Mill’s finest certainly does just that!
