Stop these sewage spills

Stop these sewage spills

I’ve just come back from the Wylie cove behind my house to find that another sewage spill has occurred in the lake! This is the second one in around two months!

As usual, I’m told that it is TREATED SEWAGE and not harmful to wildlife or humans. Yet, the “No Swimming” signs are in place at the entrance to the cove from the golf course. I know from past experiences that treated sewage is still processed feces, urine, and no telling what else. All this from the same lift station that has continually caused these problems in the past 19 years I’ve lived in “the Cay.”

I know when the same happens on Lake Norman, it makes news in the Charlotte Observer.

Maybe when the herons, fish, turtles and other wildlife are seen floating in the lake, some steps will be taken to remedy the damage man does to our natural resources – always too late!
