Report: Woman fired handgun during dispute

A Fort Mill woman has been charged with illegally firing a handgun after she allegedly shot a round in the air while arguing with her child’s father, according to a Fort Mill Police report.

The report states the man came to Forest Ridge Apartments March 15 to pick up his child from the mother. The two began arguing, the report states, and the woman allegedly fired a handgun into the air to scare him away. The man fled and called police.

The woman initially denied shooting a weapon, but later told police she did fire the gun, according to the report. Officers said they found a .38 caliber handgun hidden in some laundry.

The woman, 30-year-old Jacquelyn Hope of Fort Mill, was arrested and charged with illegally discharging a firearm.

Fort Mill teen charged with domestic violence

An 18-year-old Fort Mill man was arrested after he allegedly assaulted a 17-year-old girl, according to a Fort Mill Police report.

The suspect, Robert Michael Spence Jr., of 221 Butler Place, was arrested March 10 after an altercation at his home. The report states police were called to the scene to investigate a domestic dispute. At the door, they heard a woman screaming for the suspect to stop holding her down. Police entered the home and interviewed the two, who both had red marks on their skin, indicating a scuffle, the report states.

Spence told police he only held the woman down because she attacked him first, according to the report. The woman denied attacking the man. A neighbor told police he heard the woman screaming for help.

Police decided to charge Spence with criminal domestic violence.

Two men caught with heroine

York County authorities arrested two men during a Fort Mill traffic stop and charged them with possession of heroin, according to a York County Sheriff’s Office report.

The report states deputies stopped a vehicle on I-77 near mile marker 86 on March 13 because it was speeding. Authorities during the stop found evidence that the driver and his passenger were allegedly in possession of heroin, the report states.

The men, identified as Jeremy Reese Porter, 22, and James Michael Winkler, 33, were both arrested and charged with possession of heroin.

Fort Mill bank robbed

The First Patriots Bank located on Hwy. 21 Bypass in Fort Mill was robbed on March 13, according to a York County Sheriff’s Office report.

The report states two men entered the bank and demanded money. They were described as wearing all black clothing with masks covering their faces and gloves on their hands. The men told three employees to lay on the floor while another was instructed to empty cash drawers into a black bag. He brandished a black handgun. The woman complied with the demands and the two men fled the scene in a older model silver sedan, according to the report. No one was injured. Police could not immediately locate the suspects. The amount of stolen cash was not disclosed.
