Come out and learn about ‘Make a Wish’

April 30, 2013

Thank you for granting ‘Wish’

On behalf of Make a Wish of South Carolina, I would like to thank the community for their overwhelming support for our first annual Walk for Wishes held April 6 in Cherry Park in Rock Hill. We had over 200 walkers, many Wish children and their families, sponsors, volunteers and local media in attendance, and we were able to raise over $18,000.

Make a Wish grants the wishes of children from 2 1/2 to 18 years of age who are facing a life-threatening condition. No medically eligible child is turned away. There are currently over 30 children in our area (York, Chester and Lancaster counties) awaiting a wish, and this event’s proceeds will help those local children’s wishes come true!

We always welcome new volunteers and will be holding a volunteer meeting 6 p.m. Thursday, May 25, in the Fort Mill Public Library in Baxter Village. Join us to learn how to Share the Power of a Wish!

Thank you, Fort Mill, Rock Hill and surrounding areas for making our first walk a big success!
