Tega Cay Lions honor Fort Mill, Nation Ford seniors

Seniors from Fort Mill and Nation Ford high schools were honored by the Tega Cay Lions at a recent Saturday morning breakfast meeting.

The Tega Cay Lions Club honored 11 graduating seniors and their parents at a recent breakfast meeting at Casual Water Restaurant in Tega Cay.

Seniors were chosen based on their academic achievements that placed them in the top 10 percent of their graduating class. Each student received an achievement award and a plaque denoting their academic excellence. Students honored were Ronald Bucher, Zachary Dulcie, Edward Dunton, Gabriella Hummel, Harrison Lancaster, Caroline Lewis, Allyssa Resech, Derrell Schumpert III, Hunter Smith, Joseph Cassidy and Lucas Stalnaker.

The awards and a brief biography of the honorees were presented by Tega Cay mayor and Lions Club member George Sheppard.

The Tega Cay Lions Club was founded in 1974 and currently consists of 70 members from Tega Cay and surrounding areas. They sponsor a wide variety of community service and charitable annual events, including an Easter Egg Hunt, a Senior Citizen Christmas Party and Fall Festival Children’s Parade, in addition to supporting many organizations such as Fort Mill Care Center, Children’s Attention Home in Rock Hill, Neighbors Helping Neighbors and S.C. Lions Foundation.
