S.C. Highway Patrol: Stay safe on July 4

July 2, 2013

Keep it safe July 4

The S.C. Highway Patrol asks for your help in maintaining safe roadways during the July 4 holiday. York County is a wonderful place to live, but it has seen many fatal crashes during our lifetimes.

Our target is zero fatalities.

Independence Day should be a great time of celebration and should not be marred by tragedies such as an automobile crash. Last Fourth of July holiday, South Carolina experienced five fatal crashes during the travel period and exactly 100 injury crashes. We ask that you focus on your driving and avoid dangerous behaviors such as speeding, not wearing a seatbelt and DUI. Troopers will be out in force, and together we can make this a safe holiday.
