— The 2013 high school football schedules have been released and look somewhat similar to last year.

Nation Ford will continue to open its season with North Carolina opponent Forestview in week zero. The Falcons travel to the Gastonia-based school before coming back home for its home opening against Boiling Springs Aug. 30.

The Falcons will have six home games this year, while their road games take them to Ridge View in Columbia as well as Clover, York and then over to Fort Mill Nov. 8 to finish out the regular season with the annual “Mill Town Showdown.”

After its first three games, Nation Ford will have an open date Sept. 13 before heading on the road for two straight weeks against Ridge View and Clover. The Clover game opens the Falcons Region III-AAAA schedule.

Nation Ford will have region home games against Lancaster, South Pointe, Rock Hill and Northwestern.

Across town, Fort Mill will open up its 2013 schedule at Lugoff-Elgin Aug. 30 in week one.

The match-up will pit former Jackets’ defensive coordinator and Fort Mill native Dave Thomas against his old team, as Thomas is now in the same position with Lugoff-Elgin.

From there, Fort Mill has non-region home games against Dutch Fork and Broome, sandwiched in between a non-region road game at Ridge View.

The Jackets’ home opener will be against Dutch Fork Sept. 6.

Fort Mill opens its region schedule Sept. 27 at South Pointe and stays on the road the next week at York.

The Jackets will have three region home games against Rock Hill, Northwestern and Nation Ford.

Indian Land will open its 2013 season also on Aug. 30 at Buford. Buford will yet again bookend the Warriors’ season as they close their regular season out at home against Buford in a Nov. 1 rematch.

Indian Land will play its first home game Sept. 6 against Blacksburg and have home games against McBee, Chesterfield and Andrew Jackson.

All games for all three schools are scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
