Fort Mill Care Center needs food to give away

Care Center needs food donations

The Fort Mill Care Center food pantry is in need of canned food. We have relocated to 818 Tom Hall St. (Tom Hall Plaza). This space is about a quarter of the size of our previous pantry, so we ask that donations be limited to canned foods, peanut butter, rice and personal-care items. Canned foods can be stored in a smaller space than other items, and rice and peanut butter are staples.

We need canned vegetables (15 oz.), canned fruit (15 oz.), SpaghettiOs, Chef Boyardee, canned meats, peanut butter and rice. Personal-care items (which cannot be purchased with food stamps) include toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, bar soap, deodorant, laundry detergent, liquid dish soap (many do not have dishwashers), feminine hygiene and adult diapers.

We will be open to receive donations 9-11a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, and 9 a.m.-noon Aug.26 (Monday), Aug. 28 (Wednesday) and Aug. 30 (Friday). Donations can also be brought during our regular operating hours of 9 a.m.-noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday starting Sept. 4 (we will be closed Labor Day).

Thank you.
