Lady Falcons perfect in league tennis play

— The Nation Ford girls’ tennis team stayed perfect in Region III-AAAA play picking up wins over Lancaster and Rock Hill.

The team did drop its first match of the year an 8-1 loss to Charlotte Latin, as the Lady Falcons are now 4-1 on the season.

Against Rock Hill, Nation Ford won 5-1 and were led by No. 2 singles player Lauren Schneider, who won 6-0, 6-1. No. 3 singles player Jordan Sawyer also won by similar score and No.4 Tanashia Thomas won in a close first set 7-5, then picked up the second set win 6-1.

No. 5 Darby Trull won by forfeit and in doubles action Susie Clark and Annie Morgenstern played near perfect tennis to pick up the 6-0, 6-0 victory.

Things were even better for Nation Ford against Lancaster as they got a 6-0 win.

No. 1 Suzanna Goss won in straight sets 6-0, 6-0. Schneider had the toughest match, but still got the 6-1, 6-3 win.

Sawyer won 6-0, 6-1 and Thomas won 6-0, 6-1. Trull won 6-0, 6-0 and in doubles Clark and Morgenstern also won 6-0, 6-0.

Against Charlotte Latin, Sawyer was the only Nation Ford player to pick up the win in her match winning 6-4, 6-3.

The Lady Falcons have two matches scheduled for this week, both region opponents, as they travel to South Pointe and play Northwestern at home.
