Fort Mill swim team remains undefeated

— It certainly hasn’t been a dog fight, but more like a dog paddle for the Fort Mill swim team as everybody they have come up against this season have been swamped.

Fort Mill picked up three more wins this past week, including one against rival Nation Ford.

Fort Mill’s girls beat the Lady Falcons 134-36 and the boys won 114-56. The Jackets won all four relay races and only Brandon Sweezer won any events for Nation Ford as he took both the 200-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle.

Those individuals winning for Fort Mill were:

Tori Herron – girls’ 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle

Madison Coughlen – girls’ 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard butterfly

Zach Piedt – boys’ 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard butterfly

Michelle Case – girls’ 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle

Mason Strohl – boys’ 50-yard freestyle

Jacob Kohlhoff – boys’ 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke

Kylie Namowicz – girls’ 100-yard backstroke

Madison Little – girls’ 100-yard breaststroke

Harrison Mobbs – boys’ 100-yard breaststroke

Earlier in the week, Fort Mill got wins against Rock Hill and York. The girls’ squad beat Rock Hill 139-25 and York 134-28, while the boys’ squad beat Rock Hill 120-47 and York 140-23.

Winning for Fort Mill were:

Madison Coughlen – girls’ 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle

Jacob Kohlhoff – boys’ 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle

Michelle Case – girls’ 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard freestyle

Lucas Fairbanks – boys’ 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard breaststroke

Jenna Pehowski – girls’ 50-yard freestyle

Zach Piedt – boys’ 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle

Madison Little – girls’ 100-yard butterfly

Erynn Black – girls’ 100-yard backstroke

Nation Ford beat Lancaster earlier in the week with the boys’ team winning 103-67 and the girls’ team actually tying the Lady Bruins.

Winning for Nation Ford were:

Jacob Martin – boys’ 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly

Sabrina Riehl – girls’ 200-yard individual medley

Brandon Sweezer – boys’ 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard breaststroke

Abbey Thoden – girls’ 50-yard freestyle

David Sweezer – boys’ 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle

Rebekah Peterson – girls’ 100-yard freestyle

Ryan Williams – boys’ 500-yard freestyle

Trent Cubine – boys’ 100-yard backstroke

Nation Ford will finish the regular season this week with a three-way meet against Fort Mill and Rock Hill. It is also Fort Mill’s last regular season meet as well. The regular season will end Saturday with the Region III-AAAA championship at the Rock Hill Aquatics Center.
