Rain doesn’t dampen Nation Ford, Indian Land band previews

September 25, 2013

— Rain didn’t keep away the crowd from Saturday night’s marching band exhibition at Nation Ford High School.

Nation Ford and Indian Land high school marching bands, along with other area marching bands, kicked off marching band season with a performance of their 2013 shows. Nation Ford’s show, “The Ancient Art of War,” is inspired by ancient Mediterranean styles of war. Indian Land debuted its show, “Letters Home,” a production that focuses on the Vietnam war era.

This Saturday, Nation Ford High School has a practice day for band members and Indian Land will compete in the Old English Festival of Bands in Rock Hill. Fort Mill Marching Band will compete at the Carolina Cavalcade of Bands in Concord, N.C., on Saturday.
