Yard, hot dog sale Saturday
Community Presbyterian Church, 600 N. White St., Fort Mill, will hold a yard sale and hot dog sale 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.
A hot dog with all the trimmings and bag of chips is $2; drinks are $1.
A portion of the proceeds will go toward missions and a portion toward replacing the church Fellowship Hall heating and air conditioning unit.

Community Cafe offers lunch
The Community Cafe offers free weekly lunches at Lake Wylie Lutheran Church at the corner of Hwy. 160 West and Gold Hill Road in Fort Mill, near Tega Cay.
The cafe serves free lunches every Friday 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Donations are accepted.

Temple Solel meets at St. Philip Neri
Temple Solel, a Reform Jewish Congregation, is holding Shabbat Services as well as religious schooling at St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church, 292 Munn Road, Fort Mill.

Gateway collects canned goods
The Gateway Church of God, 8558 Shelley Mullis Road, Indian Land, is collecting 15-ounce cans of green beans and corn for its annual Appalachia missions project. The goal is to collect 1,200 total cans to deliver to poverty-stricken areas of Kentucky in November.

Prayer garden open to public
Everyone is invited to visit the Community Prayer Garden with Stations of the Cross on the grounds of Crossroads Lutheran Church, 8511 Shelley Mullis Road, Indian Land. The garden, shaded with benches, is open from 8 a.m. to sunset daily. Booklets are available at the entrance of the garden with reflections and prayers to guide visitors on their walk. The garden is located on the right side of the building with parking in the church parking lot.
Cookbook for sale

Community reading program
The United Churches of Fort Mill has organized “The Paradise Reading Center, Changing the lives of Families through Reading.”
The objective is to improve literacy in the Fort Mill community with hopes of improving school performance, as well as adult literacy.
The host site is Bethlehem Baptist Church, 601 Joe Louis St., Fort Mill, and the hours are 5-6 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Volunteers are welcome.

A new Bible study is being held Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. at State Line Church of Christ at The Regent Park Golf Club.

Mothers of Preschoolers, an international, nondenominational Christian organization, meets at First Baptist Church, 121 Monroe White St., Fort Mill.

Young Life of York County is at work with teens in the community, providing leaders to help them make wise decisions.
Young Life is a Christian ministry committed to making an impact on kids’ lives and giving them hope for tomorrow. Founded in 1941, Young Life leaders build positive relationships with young people in order to model and communicate the truth about Jesus Christ. Young Life reaches suburban, urban and multicultural kids as well as kids with disabilities and teenage mothers.

ESL classes held
English as a Second Language classes meet at 7 p.m. every Tuesday night at Flint Hill Baptist Church in Fort Mill.
