Tega Cay Mayor: ‘Vote for your future’

October 30, 2013

Vote for your future

You really don’t know how much influence you have on your future until you take responsibility for it. This could not be truer than in the upcoming elections for City Council and Mayor of Tega Cay. Most people I speak to are pleased with the improvements in our city and approve of my vision for the future, but it is just that mindset that could derail our progress if it isn’t championed at the polls on Nov. 5.

It has been my honor to serve you as Mayor, a position I ran for because I recognized that past practices and fiscal irresponsibility left us precariously close to financial failure. Now, despite the recession, we have overhauled our fiscal policies, enabling a reserve fund of over $2M and resulted in an increased Bond Rating by Moody’s, which will allow us to deal more effectively with several serious outstanding issues facing our community including the TCWS water and sewer problems, a public safety station, annexation, road improvements and Catawba Park.

I am seeking reelection to continue building on our accomplishments but I am not running unopposed. While I appreciate my opponent’s willingness to serve, I am concerned that their patterns or dissuasions could adversely alter the progress we’ve worked so hard for. I know that once you distinguish fact from fiction (from official sources available to anyone and from my website, George4Mayor.com), you will embrace the Progress You Know and Trust and vote for me on Nov. 5.

It has been asserted that the greatest threat to success is when “good men do nothing.” I encourage all who want to preserve and cultivate Tega Cay’s unique Good Life and continue the progress toward addressing our future to Vote For It!

George Sheppard

Mayor City of Tega Cay
