From staff reportsNovember 26, 2013

— Ground was broken recently on a 246-unit apartment complex off Hwy. 160 East near Hwy. 521.

The Enclave at Bailes Ridge is billed as “a luxury apartment community,” according to property manager The Sterling Group. The $31.4 million, 21-acre complex is expected to open this coming spring. The builder is Braxton Development.

“We are extremely excited to be entering this market with Braxton Development,” said Sterling Management’s assistant vice president, John Ehrhardt. “When we began researching various markets across the country to develop in, a few select markets, including Charlotte, continued to rise to the top,” he said.

Ehrhardt said the company “knew we wanted to offer the lifestyle our apartment community provides to an underserved area.

“As we continued our research we found this submarket in northern Lancaster County that caught our attention,” he said. “The business fundamentals and strong leadership we found in Indian Land were some of the strongest we have seen and we knew it was a place we wanted to do business.”

The Enclave at Bailes Ridge will include 15 two- and three-story, walk-up, garden style apartment buildings and feature nine floor plans ranging in size from 695 to 1,353 square feet.

Rents will start at approximately $800 for a one-bedroom apartment. The community will include 118 garages.

It will be pet-friendly community will feature a resident clubhouse, cyber café with Wi-Fi, a media/gaming room, fitness center, swimming pool, two grilling stations, car care center and a recycling center.
